Thomas was the father of the older Philemon, the second on colonial soil to bear the name, he wed Elizabeth Smith who as Eliza; Plumer (sic) is named in the Will of her brother John Smith who also named his wife Joan and brothers Philip and Charles. A Planer, Thomas was already seated on "Seaman's Delight" in Prince George's County, MD, when his father bequeather it to him in 1694. Originally a 100 acre tract, it was resurveyed to 201 acres when the patent was granted in 1716. (30) In this same year he also received a patent for the 50 acre part of "Dundee" (31) in Prince George's Co. At his death, he owned two further tracts, one of which was part of "Swanson's Lott" which was likely purchased from his brother-in-law Francis who inherited the full 600 acre tract from his father, Dr. Franics Swanson. Thomas' Will (32) was written 26 Jun 1726 in the presence of Thomas Stockett Jr., Thomas will and Thomas Waitt. As executrix, Elizabeth presented the document to Prince George's Court 28 Jun1728. At the writing, the three youngest sons were under 16 years of age and Elizabeth was given their custody. Five older sons and two daughters were each bequeathed personalty. The lands there to be equally shared by the younger sons George, John, Micajah, Yate and Abezier to be disposed of ony among themselves or their brother Jerome. Although evidence is lacking it would seem that he had helped the older sons in establishing plantations prior to this time.
Lived on "Seaman's Delight" Prince George's Co. (formerly Calvert Co.), 100 acres inherited from his father, 201 acres by patent 1716; "Dundee" of 50 acres patented in 1716; owned part of "Swanson's Lot".

Sister of John Smith. John lived on "Seaman's Delight" Prince George's Co. (formerly Calvert Co.), 100 acres inherited from his father, 201 acres by patent 1716; "Dundee" of 59 acres patented in 1716; owned part of"Swanson's Lot",
Elizabeth patented "Lyford" in 1734;
Elizabeth was granted a patent in 1734 for a tract which she named "Lyford".(33) She survived but two more years, writing her will (34) 28 Mar 1736 with Jno. Sr., Jno, Jr and Elinor Evans as witnesses. Though the rotation of children is slightly different from that in her hasband's will, the fact that she nmbered each suggest that she followed their order of birth, Thomas III, Samuel, George, James, John, Jerome, Philimon (sic), Priscila (Mrs. John) Ouchalog, Phebe (Mrs. Joseph) Williams each received personalty, Micajah and Yate as executors received "Lyford" jointly and Abiezer under 21 years of age. Of the sons, Philemon has been fully accounted for. Mention of the nine remaining sons is made to put the family in perspective.

Samuel inherited 20s from will of his father. All children wed in Quaker ceremonies except Joseph
Samuel witnessed will of John Turner, Sr, in Prince George's Co. with his brother, James, written 2 Dec 1720; probate 9 Dec 1723 (38) Will of Thomas Miles of Prince George's Co., written 2 Aug 1725 leaves daughter Sarah, wife of Samuel Plummer, personalty (Md. Cal. Wills, Col. This family left the West River-The Clifts area when certificates to Monocacy were given to Joeph and Thomas on 26 May 1749. After the death of Samuel, the entire family followed the lead of the 2 eldest sons and moved to Frederick Co., 18 Feb 1775 Sarah Plummer presented a certificate from West River to Pipe Creek Monthly Meeting for herself, daus. Ursula and Susanna, and granddaughter Sarah Harris (Quaker Records of No. MD.)

This family left the West River-The Clifts area when cetrtificates to Monocacy were given to Joseph and Thomas on 26 May 1749. After the death of Samuel, the entire family followed the lead of the two eldest sons and moved to Frederick Co.
Samuel Sr. was by far the most successful of his brothers. As a major benefactor of Richard Rose , he is called "my loving friend" and was bequeathed "Rose's Purchase",(41) in Prince George's County, which later became the plantation where his children were born and raised. In the West River MM on the 4th Day of 1st mo. 1723, Sarah Miles became his bride. Their original marriage certificate is preserved in the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. The births of their children are recorded in the West River MM registry of which meeting, he was appointed Overseer the 26th Day of 4th mo, 1759 and in the Pipe Creek MM.(43) He acquired "Upper Getting" adjoining the home plantation, both of which he later devised to his widow. Turning his attention to Frederick Co., MD he obtained title to 1,455 acres. Two tracts are notable, "Pleasant Meadow (Pleasant Meddo) upon which part of present-day Monrovia was established by son Joseph (44) and "Hunting Lott" where New Market was laid out in 1793 by grandson William Plummer son of Thomas and by Nicholas Hall.(45) Quoting his obituary, "On Wed. 12th Inst. (12 Dec 1759) Mr. Samuel Plumer of Prince Georges Co. was found dead in the road near his Plantation and is supposed to have died of a fit of apoplexty. He was sober, industrious and above 60 years of age." (46)
It is evident from church records that Samuel did not name all of his children in the Will written 13 Jan 1754 and witnessed by Rich Thomas and Mary Moore.(47) Named in order of birth with names of mates added and tracts inherited one fnds the following: Ruth wed Richard Hollad "Rich Hills" on Linganore, Thomas (Eleanor (Walker) Poultney) "Hunting Lott" on draught of Linganore, Joseph (Sarah Sollers) "Pleasant Meddo" on Bush Creek, Samuel Jr. (Mary Tucker) "Food Plenty" and "Rocky Hill" above forks of Bush Creek, Cassandra wed Friends Elder William Ballenger part of "Hickory lains", Friends minister Sarah wed Mahion Janney, Abraham (Sarah Ward) part of "Hickory Plains", Rachel wed John Harris part of "Hickory Plains" on Bush Creek, Ursula remained single, Elizabeth wed Moses Harris, Anna wed Friends Elder Joseph Talbott III and Susanna wed Anthony Poultney. Several children moved into the area that became Frederick County prior to their father's passing. After which their widowed mother and the remaining children followed. Sarah passed the 3rd Day of 10 mo. 1788 near New Market. The Bush Creek (Monrovia) Society of Friends meeting house was established on land donated by Joseph. Many of Samuel and Sarah's decendants through the generations have held a birth-right in the Society of Friends.

Elizabeth, widow of Philemon, Sr. appeared in Prince Georges Court 8 Sep 1744 asking
the Judge to appoint her late husband's brother James as administrator. He along with James Edmonston and Samuel White posted a 300 pound bond, to which Wm. Rogers and Thos. Pusby Jr. were witnesses.(10) The following Oct 11th, Robert Debutts, whose wife Abigail was a daughter of John White, Richard Snowden and Thomas Beatty filed an inventory of the estate to which kin John and Esscey (Keziah's nickname) Plummer applied their marks.(11) Elizabeth again approached the Court 24 Aug 1748 along with her brothers-in-law Micajah and Samuel Plummer "son(s) of Thomas, Planters, binding unto
themselves minor heirs Achsah, Elizabeth, Philemon II, Jerome, George and Dorcas.(12)
By her request, the Fairfax Society of Friends Monthly Meeting received Elizabeth the 31st Day of 1st mo. 1750. Before long, Abraham Crum (d. 31 May 1787, 78 y2m 4d) widower of Alley (Wilson) came courting. The intent became serious, of which the meeting cautioned her of marriage ot a non-member. The registry reports their wedding as the 28th Day of 2nd mo. 1756. For this act, she was disowned by the society the following 27th Day of 3rd mo. Apparently in support of their mother, Keziah, Elizabeth, George and Dorcas were all disowned within a year for non attendance. (13) Elizabeth joined Abraham Crum in deeding a parcel of land 24 Jun 1760. (14) She is not named in his Will written 22 Apri 1787.(15) He is buried on his farm between Frederick and Bartonsville, MD. (16)
Of Philemon and Elizabeth's nine children, John was apparently the eldest, followed by Keziah born 4 1mo, 1728/9,(17) thought to have wed William Henderickon, Sr. as his second wife and living in Allegany County, MD in 1800, Sarah born 28 9 mo. 1730,(18) Achsah who wed George Hinkle in Fairax, MM. the 28th Day of 2st mo. 1755 (19) and lived in Allegany County, MD, Elizabeth, Philemon II who is found on the 1778 return of Edward Burgess as Patriot (20) and wrote his will 21 Feb 1818, (21) Jerome who may be the same who wrote a Will 11 Jul 1796 in Allegany County, MD, George born circa 1738 (22) who served as a private under Captain Ware during the French and Indian War (23) and bought a tract of land (24) from his step-father three days prior to writing his Will 21 Jun 1774 (25) and lastly Dorcas.

Abezier, the youngest child acquired from his brothers "Swanson's Lott" which became his home plantation and "Dundee". Was under 21 when his mother died and Yate cared for his portion of his portion of the estate until he became of age.
Plummer Ijams (a first cousin), George and Jacob Wells witnessed his Will (67) 2 Sep 1770 and Charles Ramsay Hodges, Joseph Jones and Peter MacLaughlin the codicil 9 Oct 1770. The latter date apparently was incorrectly recorded in view of the fact that the document was presented for probate the previous day. The Will mentions wife Ann with sons Thomas and John to share separate halves of the plantation and jointly "Dundee", however the codicil leaves the latter to son Joseph and the former to John after Ann's death. Grandson Bezer Plummer (son of Thomas) is also mentioned. Grandson Bezer Plummer (son of Thomas) is also mentined.
