Logan County Native Succumbs To Long Illness
Martha Irene Wallace, 51, a native and life-long resident of Logan county, died of a heart attack Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at her home in Huntsville. She had been ill since 1943.
Mrs. Wallace was born Feb. 25, 1904, a daughter of John and Laura Jenkins Herren. She and Daniel Alvin Wallace were married June 30, 1924.
Surviving with her husband are a son, Robert, a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Birt of Huntsville, a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Taylor, Rushsylvania and three sons and two daughters at home; Max, Carl, Donald, Mildred and Carol. Also surviving are five brothers, Chester and Robert Herren of Huntsville, Ralph and John of Bellefontaine, and Raymond of Van Beuren, Ark., two sisters, Mrs. Dick Harpest, R. F. D., New Hampshire, and Mrs. Mary Manahan, DeGraff, and two grandchildren. One sister and two brothers are deceased and a grandchild died last winter.
friends may call at the late home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Huntsville Methodist church of Which she was a member, with the pastor, Rev. Harold Stafford, officiating. Burial will be made in the Huntsville cemetery.

Obituary Daniel Alvin Wallace
Services for Daniel Alvin Wallace, 77, of Alpine Village, Zanesfield, have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Van Horn Funeral Home in Lakeview. The Rev. Gerald Geiger of the Huntsville United Methodist Church will officiate and interment will take place in Huntsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Wallace, a retired section foreman with the New York Central Railroad, died Saturday morning, May 14 of this year.
Born Feb. 19, 1906, in Logan County, he was the son of Vernon and Sylvia Benton Wallace. His first wife, Martha Herren Wallace, died in 1955. He later married Florence McNally and she survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Junior (Virginia) Hulbert of Lakeview, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Taylor and Mrs. Carol Graham, both of Bellefontaine, and Mrs. Jack (Mildred) Shepard of Huntsville; three sons, Robert V., Max L. and Carl E., all of Huntsville; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. John (Mabel) Bishop of Bellefontaine.
Mr. Wallace was a charter member of Huntsville Lions Club.
