Bellefontaine - William Franklin Wallace, 76, of 116 Powell Ave., a retired employee of the former New York Central Railroad died Wednesday morning in Mary Rutan Hospital.
Mr. Wallace was born Jan. 27, 1902; in Kenton, Ohio, a son of Vern and Sylva Benton Wallace. In his younger years, he became a native of Bellefontaine.
Survivors include three sons, Harry L, of Merrit Island, Fla., Herbert L. of Russells Point, O., John of Tipp City, O.; five daughters, Mrs. Enis (Lois) Johnson of Fairfield, Mrs. James (Esther) Boyd and Mrs. Frank (Donna) Phillips of Bellefontaine, Mrs. Roger (Freda) Prall of Tipp City, Miss Mary Wallace of Merrit Island; a sister, Mrs. John (Mable) Bishop of Edgewater, Fla.; Two brother Alvin of Zanesfield, Ohio, and Fred of New Smyrna, Fla.; three brothers are deceased.
Services were held in Eichholtz Funeral Home by Rev. Fred W. Bates of Nazarene Church. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center, Ohio.
Pallbearers were John Wallace, Max Wallace, Carl Wallace, Tim Wallace, Dick Lavan and Tony Eaton.

Native of Santa Fe, 60, Succumbs At Hospital Here
The death of Mrs. Elden Jay (Dora Genevieve) Stearns, 60, 512 West Auburn Avenue, occurred at 8:02 a.m. Monday in Mary Rutan Hospital where she was admitted on May 5 for medical treatment.
She was born May 16, 1903, in Santa Fe, a daughter of Charles E. and Emma Rhodes.
On March 30, 1942, she was married to Mr. Stearns who survives with two sons and two daughters by a previous marriage. They are Harry L. Wallace, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Herbert L. Wallace, R. F. D. 2, Lakeview; Mrs. Enis (Lois) Johnson, Hamilton, and Mrs. Robert (Esther M.) Garver, 508 North Detroit Street. Remaining also are 17 grandchildren.
The deceased was a member of the First Church of God where funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in charge of the pastor, Rev. Malcolm McDonald. Burial will be made in the Rushsylvania cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Eichholtz funeral home and then after 12 noon Thursday at the church

Obituary Harry Wallace, retired engineer, dies at 70
Harry Lowell Wallace, 70, a retired electrical engineer, died Thursday at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach.
A native of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Wallace graduated from the University of Cincinnati and worked for General Electric, Westinghouse, Bendix, Federal Electric and ITT.
He moved to Merritt Island in 8965 from Huntsville, Ala, where he had been lead engineer on the lunar vehicle landing simulator at Redstone Arsenal.
His work at Kennedy Space Center included instrumentation of the control boards of the launch control center, fire alarm systems and an early multiplexer to monitor video signals, said his son, Thomas Grant of Merritt Island.
Wallace enjoyed writing and contributed several guest editorials to Florida Today. Lately, he had read many books in preparation to rite a manuscript on the human condition from its origin to what he thought would be its end, his son said. He also designed the newsletter for Merritt Manor Nursing Home.
Wallace was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Merritt Island Moose Lodge and the Board of Professional Electrical Engineers. He was a former private pilot.
Other survivors include his wife, Mary Wallace of Merritt Island; sons, William Grant of Virginia Beach, Va., and Randall Wallace of Merritt Island, daughters, Cynthia Brown of Beaumont, Texas, Cathy Horne of Merritt Island, Cheryl Tucker of New Smyrna Beach and Edith Wallace and Nancy Wallace, both of Michigan; brothers, Herbert Wallace, John Wallace and Kenneth Loschert, all of Ohio; sisters, Lois Johnson of Ohio, Freda Prall of Orlando, and Donna Phillips of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, with services following at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home on Merritt Island. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.

Russells Point -- Diane J. Wallace, 50, of here died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at University Hospital, Columbus.
She was born born Feb 17, 1935, in Lorain, the daughter of Adelbert and Cassiel Murray Burdge. Her mother survives in Norwalk. On Aug. 26, 1955, she married Herbert L. Wallace who survives.
Mrs. Wallace was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy Wallace and Terry Wallace, both of Russells Point, and Tracy Wallace, at home; a daughter, Colleen Wallace, at home; two grandchildren; a brother, Adelbert Burdge Jr. of Bellville, Ill.; and a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Betty) Crist of Mansfield.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Van Horn Funeral Home, Lakeview, Rev. Jack H. Reprogle officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.

Esther Marie Boyd, 57, of 206 E. Chillicothe, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, Jan 14, at St. Rita's Medical
Center, Lima.
She was born in Logan County on Jan. 16, 1935, the daughter of William Frank and Dora Rhoads Wallace.
Mrs. Boyd had been employed as a waitress with the Kettle Pancake House and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Houchin of Bellefontaine and Connie Hoylman of Kempner, Texas; two stepdaughters, Peggy Garvin and Betty Milky, both of Dayton; one son, Tony Easton of Bellefontaine; two stepsons, James Boyd Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, and James Garver of Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Enos (Lois) Johnson of Hamilton, Mrs. Roger (Freda) Prall of Orlando, Fla. and Mrs. Frank (Donna) Phillips of Bellefontaine; and three brothers, Harry Wallace of Merit Island, Fla., Herbert Wallace of Russells Point and Johnnie Wallace of Tipp City.
Also surviving are six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James L. Boyd.
Friends may call at the Littleton Funeral Home, Highland Chapel, on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday, with Pastor James P. Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Robert Earl Garver, Sr., 54, 116 Powell Avenue, died Friday at 10 a.m. at home following a long illness.
He was born in Bellefontaine, Dec. 19, 1917, a son of Clyde L. and Imogene Pool Garver, and had been employed by the Transportation Service, formerly the Hi-Point Trucking Co.
The deceased was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and Teamsters' Local No. 908.
On arch 7, 1960, he was married to the former Esther Marie Wallace, who survives with his mother, in Heritage court; two sons by a previous marriage, Robert Earl Garver, Jr., serving with the U. S. Army and James Garver, 120 South Hayes Street; three daughters, Mrs. William (Betty Jane) Mulky, Dayton, Mrs. Clark (Peggy) Foreman, 704 North Detroit Street and Connie Sue Garver, at home; 13 grandchildren; a step-son, Anthony Eaton, in the home, a step daughter, Mrs. David (Christian) Heizer, Lakeview, and three sisters, Mrs. Betty Sheeley, Brunswick, Mrs. Robert (Peg) Littlejohn, Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Vincent (Margaret) Winter, R. 2, Bellefontaine. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Eichholtz funeral home by Rev. Jack Womacks of the Church of the Nazarene, burial to following the Huntsville Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Littleton Funeral Home, Highland Chapel, for James Lane Boyd, 56, who died Friday morning, Jan 19, in Temple, Texas where he resided.
Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
The former Bellefontaine resident was born March 13, 1933, in Urbana, the son of Russell and Mae Copeace Boyd.
He was a member of the Merchant Marines under the United States Coast Guard with 35 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Esther M. Wallace; a son, James Junior Boyd of Anchorage, Alaska; a stepson, Tony Eaton of Bellefontaine; two stepdaughters, Christina Houchin of Bellefontaine and Connie Hoylman of Kempner, Texas; and six grandchildren.
