The following comes from Kevin K. Mittge, February 4, 2001, GenForum #2836:
Absalom is probably the "A. Robbins" in the Breckinridge Co., KY Mortality Schedule for 1860, listing as having died at age 100 (actually only 94, but what's 6 years in the census). He is listed (the only Absalom Robbins) in the 1801 to 1805 Shelby Co., KY tax lists, and then from 1806 on in Henry Co., KY, again the only Absalom Robbins. From family stories he had a son Absalom II (b. C1787), who in turn had a son Absalom III (b. c1810). Kevin K Mittge wonders if Absalom III really wasn't the youngest child of Absalom Robbins I and Mary Ogle. Mary was said to have died about 1824. Perhaps she died a couple of years before and Absalom I's second wife was Elizabeth Anderson (marriage took place in Sept 1823)?
