In October 1825, Grandison bought a quarter section of land in PUtnam County from the Goernment, adjacent to Noah's property, paying 80 dollars, in what was later named Washington township - the W1/2 of the NEQ Sec. 14. It appears that the two families came to Putnam County together.

Grandison and wife, Delila moved to Putnam Co., Indiana in the company with her parents, and took out a quarter of land from the Government In October 1825 - W 1/2 of NE Q S 14 T 13 R5W (Deed Enttry, Record 1). They sold this land on 14 February 1829. The Brotherton's appeared in the 1830 and 1840 Census of Putnam County. After their second marriage, the combined families of Grandison, Hannah and their children, appear in the 1850 Census of Putnam Co. Then disposing of their land, the family mved to Appaloosa County, Iowa about 1854 1850 Federal Census Putnam Co., Ind - Washington Twp.
